The Effects of Job Satisfaction on the Resilience of Dental Hygienists

Abstract

|
Purpose: This study focuses on the relationship between job satisfaction and resilience of dental hygienists, and also identify which factors of job satisfaction affect resilience.
Methods: This study was targeted towards dental hygienists working in dental clinic, dental hospital, and general hospital located in Seoul, Gyeongi-do, and Incheon from March 26 to April 13, 2013 by using self-administered questionnaire.
Results: The factors of job satisfaction such as professional support, organization, prospect of the job, patients relation, and staff relation have been found to have positive correlation with the control of resilience. professional support, organization, prospect of the job, patients relation, and staff relation have been found to have positive correlation with the positivity of resilience. professional support, organization, prospect of the job, patients relation, staff relation, and working environment have been found to have positive correlation with the sociality of resilience.
Conclusion: The factors of job satisfaction such as professional support, organization, prospect of the job, patients relation, staff relation, and working environment have been found to have some influences on the control, the positivity, and the sociality of resilience. The payment factor of job satisfaction influences only on the positivity of resilience, the working environment factor influences only on the sociality of resilience, and the working requirement factor had no influence on resilience.
